Releasing textiles from traditional applications, Kate observes pattern, texture and movement to devise spatial installations and keepsakes, engaging people with practice. We think her work is pretty darn dreamy so decided to find out what is inspiring her right now…
My Home.
I grew up and currently live on the South Coast of NSW. I have amazing memories here and am forever creating new ones. I’m constantly stumbling over textures, colours and forms that inspire me.
My precious jewels
Probably more sentimental than precious, my daily set of jewellery consists of pieces from my family members and closest friends. I wear them every day and sleep with them next to my bed.
Travel.
Budapest for its eccentricity, Fez for the chaotic streets and the colours of the North Sicilian coast…next stop India!
Mans best friend.
In my opinion is the Cat. I have two Burmese with very distinct, hilarious personalities. My sisters cat, the orphaned Oliver Twist is a loveable character, like is namesake. These three are my favorite company and entertainment.
Ferrero Pocket Coffee.
Perhaps a random inclusion to the top 5 favorites, but this ticks three categories. It’s an Italian chocolate filled with sweet espresso; chocolate, coffee, Italy all worth a mention in my favorite things!
